Avril Baker
Trustee
I started my career in architecture and have run my own PR consultancy business in Bristol for over 30 years. My involvement with The Park Centre began in 2019 when I worked on the public consultation for the new building. I saw for myself the amazing work of the team in supporting the whole community and providing a home for all the various organisations, charities and businesses that work there. As an active Knowle resident I was thrilled to be invited to become a trustee in 2023 and enjoy being part of the organisation and helping it to thrive.

Jane Britton
Trustee
Using the Fitness Studio weekly, I was quickly impressed by the people, services and vibe at The Park. I remember the old school building, unaware we existed despite living half a mile away! Joining the Board of Trustees in March 2023 I’m still routinely impressed by the passion behind The Park - and proud to contribute to it’s leadership and management. Having worked in the NHS, Bristol charities in social care and as a trainer, consultant and Executive Coach I bring a range of professional skills to the role. Currently, I lead on governance for the Board of Trustees.

Trustee
Lucio Mesquita
I became a trustee at The Park because I believe it is a great place where, directly or through the many great organisations based here, it can provide vital services for and by the community, from the very young to the most senior. I think it plays a particularly crucial role as a provider of a safe and welcoming space to help young people flourish and play a big role in improving the community and Bristol as a whole, as The Park is not just a venue for Knowle West’s residents, it is a fantastic asset for the entire city to enjoy.

Helen
Holland
Helen has lived and worked in South Bristol for nearly fifty years, as a teacher, college lecturer and as a Bristol City Councillor for over thirty years. Through much of that time Helen has had strong connections with The Park, supporting the development and the many different communities served here. "As a champion of The Park over many years, I am thrilled to be able to get more involved. I love to see individuals thrive and grow through community activity, people who start out coming along to groups, might become volunteers, maybe go further, but all because they were encouraged to take that first step
